LDA Avenue Lahore is a government‑backed housing scheme launched in 2002 by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA). Originally designed for government employees, it now welcomes families and investors, offering affordable, high‑quality residential and commercial plots in a secure, gated community. The development spans about 16,000 kanal and features wide carpeted roads, 24‑hour security, green parks, mosques in each block, and modern utilities. It is a well‑planned, legally approved project with excellent connectivity to major roads like Raiwind Road, Multan Road, and the M‑2 Motorway.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified enforcement actions against illegal commercial buildings across its controlled areas. In separate operations during April 2026, the LDA Town Planning Wing, on the directives of DG Tahir Farooq, sealed a total of 114 and 124 properties respectively. The crackdown targeted unauthorized commercial activities and fee defaulters in areas including Defence Road, Babar Block New Garden Town, Shadbagh, Gulshan Ravi, and Sabzazar. Sealed properties encompassed a wide range of businesses such as banks, marriage halls, private schools, restaurants, and shops.
The LDA is working on a proposal to introduce uniform commercialisation rules along the Pine Avenue corridor. If approved, the plan is projected to generate approximately Rs 134 billion in commercialisation fees over the next five years. The proposal aims to control unplanned development on this strategic road, which is being extended to 25 km. It recommends commercial activity only for plots with 200-feet depth from the avenue, requiring a 40-feet setback and allowing buildings up to 200 feet in height.
The Lahore Development Authority has scheduled a computerized lucky draw for new residential and commercial plots on 24 February 2026. This event represents a new allocation phase for plots within LDA-managed schemes.
Residents of various blocks in LDA Avenue-I continue to face significant civic issues, including the absence of gas pipelines and a proper water supply system in some streets, forcing them to rely on self-installed water pumps. They also report a lack of developed parks, mosques, schools, and security. Frustrated by the LDA's perceived negligence, residents plan to hold a protest demonstration in front of the LDA complex in Johar Town. An LDA official acknowledged the problems, attributing some delays to past litigation, and mentioned water quality testing is underway with WASA.
A new branch of the furniture and home goods store Miracle's has been launched on LDA Avenue, indicating growing commercial activity in the area. The store offered a clearance launch discount of over 50%.
