The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has intensified its crackdown on fraudulent housing schemes by launching an online property layout system providing public access to approved plans of 1,026 housing societies nationwide to enhance transparency. Concurrently, NAB announced the recovery of Rs. 5,854.73 billion (Rs. 5.854 Trillion) over two years, a 700% increase from historical totals, with most recoveries being non-cash assets like state land. Specific actions include disbursing Rs. 3.2 billion to 11,880 affectees of the Eden Housing Society case in Lahore and taking over properties worth Rs. 3.9 billion in the Pak Arab case for future victim compensation, reflecting a broader mission to reclaim illegally held state assets.

The newly appointed Director General of NAB Lahore, Ghulam Safdar Shah, held his first open hearing, personally addressing grievances from victims of several alleged fraudulent housing societies and Ponzi schemes including Bahria Cuisine, New Lahore City, Al-Jalil Garden, Grand Avenue, and Pak-Arab Housing Society. He issued on-the-spot directives, ordering retrievals of FIRs, publishing public notices, and summoning society managements. The DG reiterated NAB's zero-tolerance policy and primary objective of victim restitution, aiming to establish a people-centric bureau.

Acting on special directives of its Director General, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) launched a comprehensive city-wide crackdown against illegal housing schemes and unauthorized commercial properties. LDA teams targeted 13 illegal housing schemes around BRB Canal Road, Manawan, and Bheeni Road, including New Ghous Garden, Zam Zam City, and Al-Falah City. The operation involved demolishing illegal structures, boundary walls, and sewerage systems, and sealing sales offices. In a parallel action, the LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 109 properties for illegal commercial usage across various localities.
